Thrift Shopping Find #1

Hi,

Now this impulsive buyer needs to control her spending and use less $$ because of saving money to help a family member out. I can't control not shopping, so the next best thing to not "really" shop, is to go thrift shopping since I can score some goodies for a fraction of a price and it satisfies my urge of shopping. Can't you tell I have a problem ;-) ?

Over the past week, I went to several thrift stores in Manhattan and thought I should share my haul & where I like to thrift shop around the city. Trust me, thrift shopping can become addictive.

My favorite thrift/consignment shop in the city is Crossroads in Chelsea (West 26th location). I have found a lot of goodies there over the year...mainly shoes & bags. I don't really search through the racks for clothes since I'm not really into fashion. I like my accessories more :).

So this past week, I decided to stop by afterwork and look what I found :)..... a worn Air Jordan Retro 9s in size 5.5. It was meant to be! Because I never found JordansA
at thrift stores, let alone be in my size. I'm a huge sneaker junkie, if I forgot to mention. It's not in terrible condition, just needs a little cleaning and it will look in tiptop shape. This particular style was released in 2012, if google is correct with searching the sneaker code. I got them for only $22.50 0_0 shocked I know!
Here is a pic:

I found another sneaker at another thrift store that were practically brand new from Nike. I'll share that treasure next time.

Please comment what was your less expected find at thrift stores (if you go thrift shopping).

When You're Bored...What do you do?? Me... SHOP!

Hi Hi, I have been so stressed out from work lately that my only method of stress relief is RETAIL THERAPY. Let's face it, it's not the best therapy in the long term but lord knows finding a good bargain or buying a cute item can brighten up anyone's day immediately. It definitely works for me :-)

I am huge impulsive buyer (hence the name of this blog, hehehe). I'm always up for finding a good bargain/deal around NYC and one (or actually two) of my favorite places to find bargains are TJMaxx & Marshall's. I say one because they are sister companies, which is own by the same parent company. I love TJMaxx, Marshall's and HomeGoods (another one of their sister company, amazing for home decor). There is a one-stop shop building on 6th ave & 18th St. (in Manhattan) that houses both TJMaxx & Marshall's, along with a Bed Bath & Beyond! Right across the street is The Container Store. I call this area, a home decor/storage lover trifecta ;-)

I would say I like to stop by about 2-3 times a week to TJMaxx & Marshall's to scoop out new goodies or clearance. I tend to stop by the shoes dept, bag dept, beauty dept, home dept, juniors dept and women dept (basically 90% of the store, ha ha). Beside stopping in store in person, I love to check out the amazing deals people from across the US finds at TJMaxx & Marshalls via Instagram. It's really cool to see what amazing sales people find in each different store. Definitely make sure to follow them with these hastags #marshalls #tjmaxx #fabfound #maxinissta.

Another reason I love TJMaxx even more now is, you can SHOP ONLINE! :-D You may not have the million of items to search through but they definitely have a decent clearance section and it's perfect for those who don't like to search through racks (which I personally like to do, I like to think of it as a "treasure hunt").

Please let me know if you shop at TJMaxx, Marshall's or HomeGoods, and share what is the best bargin you found there.

I'm hoping to share some of my latest haul from them within the week (wish me luck of finding some great treasures)

-A
